If you are looking for fuller, perfectly groomed brows, a brow lamination might be your answer! Brow laminations are a non-invasive treatment that enhances the appearance of your natural brows. It involves straightening and setting the brow hairs in place to create a fuller, more defined look. Think of it as a perm for your brows, but instead of creating curls, it smooths and lifts each hair to achieve your desired shape.
Before your appointment, be sure to let your brows grow out for a couple of weeks, a brow lamination will not work on short, freshly cut brow hair. You’ll also want to refrain from using retinols or strong, active skincare products a week before your appointment to avoid skin irritation. Be prepared to discuss your desired brow shape and any specific preferences you have along with pictures of what do you like and what you don’t like.
When you come in for your appointment, we’ll start with a consultation about your brow goals and any concerns you might have. This helps me tailor the treatment to what you want as best as possible. After the consultation, I’ll have you lay on the treatment table while I cleanse your brow area to remove makeup, oils, or flaky dry skin. I’ll then apply a lifting cream which breaks down the bonds in the brow hairs, allowing them to be repositioned. After achieving the desired shape, a neutralizing solution is used to set the hairs in place. Next, I’ll map out a flattering shape that suits your face and wax them. This is also the time that I dye them if you want a brow dye as well. Finally, a nourishing serum is applied to condition and hydrate your brows, ensuring they look healthy and shiny! Before you leave, I’ll give you an aftercare kit with instructions of how to care for them in the following weeks
Brow laminations are fairly low maintenance, but you do have to remember to apply oil daily as this is a chemical process that can leave hair fragile. Applying oil daily will help prevent the hair from drying out and breaking. However, keep in mind that for the first 24 hours after your appointment, you’ll need to keep them away from oils or from getting wet.
In order to keep your brows looking their best each day, gently brush them in place. Some clients prefer to use a brow gel to keep them in place and others find that the hydrating oil in the after care kit is enough to hold them in place all day! You’ll notice as time goes on, your brow hairs will grow out and you will get new hairs growing in. This treatment typically last up to 6-8 weeks until the brow hairs have naturally fallen out and new ones have grown in. Some clients prefer to come in at the halfway mark and get their brows dyed and shaped/waxed again, others prefer to wait until their next lamination appointment.
